Deferred - Whitby Sports Hall of Fame 2020 Induction Gala

(Posted on June 30, 2020)

In light of the continuing effects of the coronavirus pandemic, the members of the Whitby Sports Hall of Fame committee have elected to suspend our Induction Gala which had previously been rescheduled to Saturday, August 15, 2020. The health and safety of our inductees, guests, partners and service providers, and committee members is paramount in importance and was the overriding factor in this decision.

Although we did examine alternative means to recognize and showcase the careers and achievements of our inductees for 2020, any and all such considerations would have diminished the prestige of this honour and the inherent intimacy of celebrating in a group setting.

Thus our 23rd Annual Induction Gala is now deferred to Saturday, April 24, 2021. All of our announced inductees for 2020 have confirmed their availability on this date, and preparations will resume when it is deemed safe by public health officials.

We remain vigilant of the coronavirus situation, including an ongoing assessment of information and recommendations from the government and public health sectors, and will notify all parties accordingly if further changes are suggested or mandated.
